How it works

  1. Go to Sites > All Sites and click your client's site name
  2. Select the devices you want to include using the checkboxes
  3. Click the Row Actions icon and choose Quick Report
  4. Select a report type: Device Health Summary, Patch Management, or Executive Summary
  5. Select the fields to include from the User-defined fields dropdown
  6. Click Run
  7. When the notification appears, click the download link to get a ZIP file containing the PDF report
  8. Attach the PDF to an email and send to your client manually

Best for: Internal ops reviews, not client-facing delivery
Limitation: No client branding, no automated delivery, and the output format is designed for technicians not business owners

Manual export and formatting

How it works

  1. Go to Reports in Datto RMM and run device and backup reports filtered to your client
  2. Export the data as CSV
  3. Open in Excel or Google Sheets
  4. Build a summary: patch compliance %, backup job success rate, device health scores, alert count
  5. Add context: how many backup jobs succeeded, any failures resolved, current patch rate
  6. Write a brief narrative summarizing the month's protection events
  7. Apply your logo and brand colors, then export as PDF
  8. Email the PDF to each client separately
Time: 2–4 hours per client per month
Best for: MSPs with 1–3 clients and a dedicated resource
Limitation: Does not scale. Quality varies month to month. Someone has to do it every month without fail.
