4 sections covering the full monthly client narrative
10–200 client MSPs using this structure each month

Four sections. One document clients will actually read.

Each section maps to a question your client is already asking. The template tells you exactly what to write and what data to pull.

Section 01
Executive Summary

A 3–4 sentence plain-English narrative written for the business owner, not the IT department. Covers the month's highlights, any notable incidents, and what the client should take away.

Section 02
Service Desk Performance

Tickets opened, tickets resolved, average response time, SLA compliance, and first call resolution. Compares this month to last month and to target, so clients can see direction, not just a number.

Metric This Month Last Month Target
Section 03
Security and Compliance

Threats blocked, patches applied, patch compliance percentage, critical vulnerabilities resolved, and failed login attempts. The numbers that justify your security stack to a client who only hears "everything's fine."

Section 04
Backup and Continuity

Backup jobs run, success rate, failures with resolution notes, and recovery tests completed. This section answers the question a client will ask the moment something goes wrong: "Were we protected?"

Most MSPs who download this template use it once, then stop.

Not because the template is wrong. Because assembling the data every month still takes hours. You pull ticket counts from your PSA, patch stats from your RMM, backup results from a third platform, and then you sit down and write. For every client. Every month. Without skipping one.

The template solves the structure problem. It does not solve the time problem. And it is the time problem that makes reporting the thing that gets skipped when the team is stretched.

Roviret connects to your PSA and RMM via read-only API and builds every report automatically. Same sections, pulled from real data, delivered to each client as a branded PDF on a fixed monthly schedule. Your team does not touch a spreadsheet. Reports do not skip a month when a project runs long.

Questions about the template.

What format is the MSP monthly report template?

The template is an HTML file you can open in any browser and print to PDF, or copy the structure into Word or Google Docs. It includes four sections with clear instructions for what to write and what data to pull for each one. No special software required.

What data do I need to fill in the template?

You will need ticket counts and SLA data from your PSA, patch compliance and threat counts from your RMM, and backup job results from your backup platform. Each section in the template includes a brief instruction note explaining exactly what to pull and where it typically lives. Plan for roughly two to four hours per client per month when pulling data manually.

What is the difference between the template and Roviret?

The template is a structure you fill in manually each month. Roviret connects to your PSA and RMM via read-only API and builds every report automatically, then delivers a branded PDF to each client on a fixed schedule. The template solves the structure problem. Roviret removes the monthly work of filling it in. Most MSPs start with the template, then move to Roviret once they have spent a few months doing the work by hand.
